Diego Costa and Juanfran in, Carvajal misses out

Saturday saw the RFEF announce Vicente Del Bosque's 23-man Spain squad for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

World champions Spain have announced their 23-man squad for the 2014 World Cup, which threw up a couple of surprises, including the inclusion of Diego Costa and the omission of Dani Carvajal.
From the original list, Navas, Deulofeu, Iturraspe, Alberto Moreno, Thiago, Negredo and Llorente miss out, whilst Fernando Torres, David Villa and Diego Costa all make the cut, in addition to Atlético's Juanfran.
Spain travel to Washington next week, and Del Bosque will test out the fitness of Diego Costa in La Roja's friendly with El Salvador at the JFK Stadium on June 7. If the Brazil-born striker breaks down again, Costa will leave the trainingt camp and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) will appeal to Fifa under article 29 of the World Cup rulebook that the player be changed due to serious injury and replaced by either Llorente or Negredo, with the Juventu striker believed to be the preferred option.
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Reina, De Gea.
Defenders:: Sergio Ramos, Piqué, Albiol, Juanfran, Azpilicueta, Jordi Alba.
Midfielders:: Javi Martínez, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Iniesta, Busquets, Koke, Cazorla, Mata, Silva, Pedro, Cesc.
Forwards: Diego Costa, Villa, Torres.
